Fiat G50-II Freccia "Finnish Aces"

Einloggen und Bewertung schreiben
Finland, a country much smaller than the Goliath among its neighbours, Stalin's Soviet Union, bought up every suitable type of armament throughout Europe in 1938-39.
In Italy, the Finns bought a number of Fiat G.50 fighter planes.
Despite some difficulties in getting the aircraft to Finland, the new Fiats arrived just in time to take part in the Winter War.
They performed valiantly in that war and later in the Continuation War.
Since conditions in Finland were somewhat different from those in sunny Italy, the airframes had to be improved to some extent.
These changes affected the tail unit, the back section of the fuselage, the propeller engines and a lot more.
So the appearance of each aircraft varied a little in the course of its service.
The same happened with the camouflage schemes of the Fiats.
It started with the original Italian camouflage schemes, which then gave way to the new Finnish colours that better suited the new environment.
  • Very interesting camouflage schemes of the Finnish fighter aces.

  • Etched and resin parts included in the kit
