Aero L-39ZA/ ZA ART Albatros

The L-39 Albatros is a Czechoslovak jet aircraft that was used for pilot training throughout the Warsaw Pact and was also successfully exported to many Third World countries.
A version was also developed as a light combat aircraft, which became known as the L-39ZA.
It had a reinforced wing structure with mounts that allowed external armament, and was also equipped with a 23 mm GSh-23 dual cannon on the belly.
The L-39 remained in service after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact and also found its way to the armed forces of some new NATO member countries.
The avionics of the Czech and Slovakian aircraft underwent a modernisation programme, newly produced aircraft of this standard were also exported, one of the most important export orders being the modernised L-39ZA/ART for Thailand.
