Gepanzerter Munitionsschlepper VK3.02

As early as 1937, the Weapons Testing Office 6 commissioned several companies to develop a light ammunition tractor. Borgward was awarded the contract for its VK3.01 concept and began building 20 vehicles as Series 0.
Based on the experience gained, several modifications were made, which finally led to the VK3.02 version in 1940.
This vehicle differed from its predecessor by a modified drive wheel, a wider vehicle hull to create more stowage space for transporting ammunition and a modified division of the stowage space on the right rear side of the vehicle, which now consisted of two separate compartments. A total of 400 vehicles were planned, of which less than 100 were ultimately built and used in operations.
 Some of the vehicle trays were used for the construction of the Borgward BIV demolition carrier, as the load carrier had the same chassis.
