Grumman F-14D Tomcat 1/48

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, swing-wing fighter aircraft that was developed for the United States Navy and entered service in 1974.

Its primary roles in the US Navy were as an air superiority fighter, reconnaissance aircraft and naval defence.

The Tomcat F-14D was a modernised version of the aircraft that was in service until the Tomcat was retired in 2006.
It has improved engines in the form of the General Electric F110 and digital modernisations of the radar and fire control systems.
Some F-14Ds were built from scratch, but there were also conversions from the F-14A.
