M47 Kampfpanzer Bundeswehr + Bundesheer

In 1951, production began of the M47 Patton, the successor to the M46 Patton.
The hull was taken over from the M46 and combined with an 810hp petrol engine, which allowed a top speed of 48 km/h.
Its L/50 gun was combined with a state-of-the-art stereoscopic rangefinder.
In total, more than 8500 M47 Pattons were produced.
Although their use by the US military was relatively short, they were in many cases delivered to friendly countries such as France, Austria and Germany.
The latter received 1,00 during 1956 and 1957 and used them in tank battalions and armoured infantry units.
In the Bundeswehr it was often equipped with smoke grenade launchers and rain gutters.

Plastic model kit

• The original Italeri kit has been upgraded with new and newly developed parts.
• New parts are the canvas cover for the gun mantlet and the West German smoke dischergers as well as the guide cross on the hull.
• Features a workable commander's hatch and a gunner's hatch that can be built open or closed.
• Includes a Tamiya figure one, M2 machine gun and a wealth of accessories.
• Bundeswehr and Austrian decals are included in the box.
