The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the Japanese Navy's primary fighter aircraft during World War II.
The A6M5 (Model 52) variant followed the A6M3 (Model 22) and was designed to counter the increasingly powerful American fighters.
This variant featured an exhaust system that provided low thrust and rounded wing tips that improved dive and roll performance as well as top speed.
It was first introduced in the fall of 1943 and served valiantly until the end of the war.
