This truck was the basis of many "Gun Trucks" in Vietnam.
Artillery batteries (.50 caliber) were often assigned to US Army artillery battalions (with self-propelled guns).
These units were equipped with M35 trucks and M55 quadmount (quad anti-aircraft) systems mounting four M2 Browning machine guns.
