The Soarer was launched in February 1981 as Toyota's first luxury passenger car. Its sophisticated, powerful six-cylinder engine and luxurious equipment, which made extensive use of the latest automotive electronics, attracted great popularity and attention. A VR Turbo was added to the Soarer in June 1981. Equipped with a straight-six turbo engine and a 4-speed automatic transmission, the vehicle produces 145 hp. Thanks to the 4-wheel independent suspension, the Soarer has excellent suspension for the time and therefore achieves excellent driving performance. The vehicle enabled comfortable and spacious driving at high speeds and quickly gained a reputation as the best private car of the 1980s.
