This experimental amphibious tank was built by Vickers-Carden-Loyd in 1931-32. The 2.2 tonne vehicle was capable of 43 km/h on the road and just under 6 km/h in water. The crew consisted of 2 men. Armament consisted of a Vickers 0.303 machine gun in a rotating turret. The British themselves did not adopt the A4E12 into their arsenal, but it was sold in small numbers to China, Thailand, the Dutch East India Company, the Soviet Union (which developed the T-37 from it) and one example to Japan. It was probably used in Asia.
