During the conflict, the engines and armament were regularly upgraded to adapt to the emerging, more modern enemy fighters.
Introduced in late 1944, the Bf 109 K-4 "Kurfürst," essentially derived from the G-model, was the last production version of this famous German fighter.
It was equipped with a powerful 2,000 hp Daimler-Benz DB 605 supercharged engine and could reach speeds of over 720 km/h.
Another notable feature was its impressive climb capability, which even surpassed that of Allied fighters.
Armed with a powerful 30mm MK108 cannon mounted in the propeller hub and two MG131 13mm machine guns mounted in the cowling, the Bf 109 K-4 was a formidable opponent.
