Panhard 178 B "47 mm Gun Late Turret"

The French Panhard 178 armoured car, armed with a 25mm gun, was one of the best pre-war SPz in its category.
This was also the reason for the Wehmacht to put these captured vehicles into service.
When France was liberated in 1944, production of this type was resumed.
The new vehicles, known as Panhard 178 B, differed by a new gun turret.
While the prototype vehicle was still armed with a 75mm cannon, the production vehicles received 47mm cannons instead.
The French military used the Panhards in France, Africa, Madagascar and Vietnam.
Some of the vehicles also went to Syria, where they remained in service until the 1960s.

The high quality ICM kit of the Panhard 178 is joined here by a new turret of the 178B version, 178B specific components and loaded tyres.
The 47mm gun barrel is turned from metal. The optional 75mm barrel is cast in resin.
