Fiat G.50bis / G.50bis/N ‘"Fghter-Bomber & Navy"

The Fiat G.50 entered service with the Regia Aeronautica before the outbreak of World War II, as the first version of this type had been tested in the late stages of the Spanish Civil War.
The G.50bis version was a response to earlier Italian fighter types, whose performance was lagging behind the modern fighters of their opponents.
Some of the Fiat fighters were also fitted with a pair of underwing pylons, so that they could also be used for ground attack.
At the same time, it was also planned to use the Fiat G.50bis/N fighter with an arresting hook on the aircraft carriers Aquila and Sparviero, which were currently under construction, but this never came to fruition as the carriers were never completed.
