Focke Achgelis FA 223 Drache "Captured"

The first helicopter ready for series production in the history of aviation and also the first to fly across the English Channel.
However, this is only a short list of all the firsts the "Drache" achieved.
The plan was to produce 400 machines, but in the end, mainly because of the Allied air raids, only about 20 of these remarkable machines rolled off the production line.
In the final phase of the Second World War, the Allies managed to capture a handful of "Drachen" and used them for flight tests in Great Britain and the USA.
Meanwhile, France was trying to develop the type further.
