The Saab 37 Viggen is an already retired Swedish single-seat, single-engine, short- to medium-range fighter.
Development work on the type began at Saab in 1952, and after choosing a delta-wing configuration that was radical at the time, the resulting aircraft made its maiden flight on 8 February 1967 and entered service on 21 June 1971.
It was the first Canard design to be produced in series.
The model shows a second generation Viggen fighter aircraft with a longer fuselage and more powerful engine.
