Swiss light tank LTL-H/Pzw 39 – Hobby Line
The light tank, designated LTL-H or LTH, was manufactured in Czechoslovakia by the ČKD company for the needs of the Swiss Army. The design is based on several light tanks developed in parallel for Iran, Peru, Sweden and Lithuania. It is a very durable and simple structure designed by the factory's design team led by chief designer Alexey Surin, allowing relatively easy modification according to the needs of individual customers. The tanks differ in terms of armament, armor thickness and the engine used. A total of 24 tanks were built for Switzerland's needs, powered by the Swedish licensed Scania Vabis engine and armed with a 24 mm Swiss armored car gun from 1938 and a pair of 7.5 mm machine guns. Development took place in the hectic pre-war period and the tanks were only handed over from January to April 1939, i.e. before and after the German occupation of Czechoslovakia. Tanks were in use in Switzerland until the 1950s, and it is still possible to see a surviving mobile example of this advanced light tank for its time.
The 1:72 scale model of this tank was created using 3D design in metal mold and the entire kit is tailored for easy and quick assembly. The decals allow the assembly of several tanks with different camouflage from the 1940s, giving them a distinctive marking of neutral Switzerland.
