Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II 1/72

From their first appearance towards the end of the Second World War until today, jet aircraft have evolved extremely.

Modern aircraft such as the F-35 Lightning II and the F-22 Raptor are referred to as "fifth generation" fighters.

Their advanced stealth capabilities and network connectivity distinguish them from earlier fighter aircraft.

The F-35 was developed as part of the Joint Strike Fighter Programme (JSF) and incorporates several features into its design.

Currently, there are three types: the conventional F-35A (CTOL) aircraft, the F-35B with vertical take-off and landing (STOVL) capabilities, and the F-35C with its larger wing and tail.

At the heart of its advanced capabilities are multiple sensors, and the wealth of data collected is relayed via a multi-functional advanced data link, providing the crew with excellent information via a large cockpit display and helmet-mounted display system. D

The F-35's maiden flight took place in December 2006 and it is scheduled for service with air forces in the US, Italy, Japan and other countries.
