Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II (1:72)

The F-35 Lightning II is a multi-role fighter aircraft that was developed. Three types of F-35 were developed simultaneously: F-35A for the Air Force, F-35B for the Marine Corps, and F-35C for the Navy, but the F-35B is the most ambitious type. Developed as a successor to the AV-8B Harrier II operated by the Marine Corps, the F-35B features a lift fan installed between the cockpit and the engine and a rotating three-bearing duct that allows the engine nozzle to be directed and controlled there. The nozzle enables short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL). The aircraft also has supersonic flight capabilities, stealth characteristics, and high situational awareness through sensor fusion.
