US Navy LCT Mk.6 (LCT-501 Class 1943-1945)

The "Landing craft, tank" (or tank landing craft) was an amphibious assault vehicle for landing tanks on invasion beaches.
It was developed by the British Royal Navy during World War II and later used by the United States Navy as well.
Known by the British as the "Tank Landing Craft" (TLC), it was later known by the US designation "Landing Craft, Tank" (LCT).
After the war, the LCT continued to be produced in the USA and were used in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
