The Russian T34, introduced in 1940, was designed for high production volumes and featured a very simplified structure.
Powered by a highly fuel-efficient 500hp V2 12-cylinder diesel engine and fitted with Christie suspension, the T34 was characterized by efficiency and mobility.
The T34/76 was equipped with a huge 76.2mm gun and featured innovative sloping armor.
With the perfect balance of superior mobility, striking power, maintenance and mass production, the T34 is widely regarded as the best all-round tank of World War II.
The 1941 T34/76 featured a distinctive cast turret and crew handrails on the hull and turret.
The T34/76 was used at the Battle of Kursk in 1943, leading a hard-fought counterattack against the German Tiger I and Panther tanks.
