Russian Medium Tank T-54 B Late Type

The Soviet T-54 main battle tank was born out of a search for a viable replacement for the T-34 medium tank. Soviet engineers tried several initiatives to replace the T-34 design with a more modern and reliable tank.
One such attempt became the T-44 armed with an 85 mm gun.
But the Soviet Army preferred the 100 mm gun instead.
The new tank was designated the T-54 and this version was equipped with the desired gun.
It was supplied to or manufactured by Warsaw Pact countries and formed the bulk of their armed forces in the 1960s and 70s.
It was also used by the Allies in the Middle East (Egypt, Syria, Jordan) and numerous non-aligned and Third World nations.
China copied the T-54 under the designation Type 59 and it was also widely distributed among Asian nations, particularly in North Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and North Korea.
