Sd.Kfz. 184 Ferdinand & 16t Strabokran

The heavy tank destroyer Ferdinand was armed with a powerful 8.8cm L/71 gun that could take out T-34 tanks at a distance of 2000 m.
The vehicle was protected by armor up to 200mm thick and equipped with advanced features such as a hybrid drive.
It was first used in combat during the Battle of Kursk in 1943.
The mobile gantry crane was "the" lifting device for repairing the new heavy tanks Tiger, Panther and the Panzerjäger Elefant near the front.
From 1944 onwards, the crane was used for another unusual purpose:
It was used by the Division z.V. to load and unload delivered A4 (V2) rockets onto the "Vidalwagen" and the "Meiller" launch vehicle.
